College to Recognize Campus Authors of 2008-09

Thirty to Be Inducted into Watson Library's 21st Century Circle of Knowledge

April 13, 2009

Thirty Wilmington College authors will be honored at a public reception Wednesday (April 15), from 4 to 5 p.m., in Watson Library.  Each year in celebration of National Library Week, the campus library staff honors faculty, students and staff who have published during the past year.

Honorees are inducted into the Watson Library 21st Century Circle of Knowledge.

They include those current and retired faculty, current staff, students, and current members of the Board of Trustees who have published library collectible works between January 2008 and March 2009.

Eligible works include published books, chapters in books, scholarly articles, published music scores, distributed media productions, or multiple professional/trade journal articles. Honorees are self-identified or nominated by their colleagues. Some authors who were honored in 2008 are being honored again in 2009 for their more recent publications.

The Watson Library 21th Century Circle of Knowledge members exemplify the strong bond between authors and libraries in the publishing cycle as well as the powerful idea that “Worlds Connect @ Your Library.”
