Albert I. and Mary E. Bailey provided construction finds and gave their name to the first science building at Wilmington College, Bailey Hall of Science.
At one time the campus snack bar was located in the basement. Upon completion of the new and much larger Kettering Science Hall in 1960, Bailey Hall was converted to a women's dormitory.
Recently it served as a men's, women's or coed residence, as housing needs dictate. Bailey also contains the College health clinic. Bailey has laundry and lounge facilities, as well as vending machines.
Each student room is furnished with desks or study tables, chairs, beds, dressers, and wardrobe closets. Each student room also has telephone and basic cable TV hookups. Each floor has a communal bathroom. Bailey can house about 18 men and women on separate floors.
