FACULTY POSITIONS

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF SOCIAL SCIENCE

Wilmington College of Ohio, a private four-year college, announces a full-time tenure track assistant professor position in the Social Sciences to begin August 2015.

Candidates should be prepared to teach integrated courses in research design and statistics. Topics covered include descriptive and inferential statistics, quantitative and qualitative methods, and experimental design. Knowledge of SPSS is strongly preferred. The candidate will also teach social science courses in one or more of the following fields: criminal justice, political science, psychology, and sociology. Preferred candidates will have a doctoral degree in one of the social sciences, and some applied experience. Evidence of successful undergraduate teaching and the ability to utilize information technology in the classroom also is preferred. An ability to support students in research, career exploration, and graduate school opportunities is essential. Psychology Adjunct Instructor(s)

Wilmington College is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Psychology Adjunct Instructor for the Spring 2015 semester with potential contract renewal in Fall 2015.

Master’s degree in psychology required; Ph.D. in psychology and teaching experience preferred.

 Rural Sociology Adjunct Instructor

Wilmington College is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Rural Sociology Adjunct Instructor for the Spring 2015 semester.

This course is designed to examine key dimensions of rural society throughout the United States and the world.

Master’s degree required and teaching experience in relevant field preferred.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF SPORT SCIENCES / ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER

The Department of Sport Sciences at Wilmington College of Ohio is seeking a person with a background in exercise science and kinesiology who is a certified athletic trainer. This person will teach courses in the exercise science and athletic training programs.

This is a tenure track position for those with a completed doctorate or non-tenured for those with a master’s degree. This position will start in Fall Semester 2015. A master’s degree, BOC certification, and Ohio AT licensure is required with Ph.D. preferred. Teaching experience in exercise science and kinesiology preferred. This position will have partial teaching release for athletic training coverage. The successful candidate will also serve as a preceptor for our athletic training education program.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF BIOLOGY

The Department of Biology at Wilmington College of Ohio is seeking a broadly trained biologist with particular expertise in anatomy and physiology for a tenure track position starting in Fall Semester 2015. The successful candidate will teach lecture and laboratory sections of vertebrate anatomy and physiology, human anatomy and physiology, contribute to the department’s general biology and Research and Seminar sequences and will mentor undergraduate research projects and theses. Ph.D. required, teaching experience and familiarity with the small college environment preferred.

SUPPORT STAFF POSITIONS

PEACE RESOURCE CENTER (PRC) COORDINATOR

Wilmington College is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Peace Resource Center (PRC) Coordinator. The Center’s mission is to foster and provide peace education. It houses our unique Hiroshima/Nagasaki Memorial Collection and other peace resources. This is a part time, 25 hours per week, hourly staff position. The position is available beginning January 8, 2015. Duties will include, but are not limited to, coordinating the PRC and promoting the Center. Background in and commitment to peace issues required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
