Wilmington College’s Issues & Artists Series will present an evening of original, interactive science comedy with an appearance by Doktor Kaboom! Feb. 26, at 7:30 p.m., in Heiland Theatre.

The entertainer/educator's performance will feature “Look Out, Science Is Coming”

Doktor Kaboom’s presentation is designed to creatively blend theatre arts with the wonders of scientific exploration. His science experiments intend to involve, excite, educate and entertain.

He takes his audience on an educational tour of the modern scientific method, using humor and comedy while demonstrating applications of the physical sciences.

The Doktor is David Epley, a native of Charlotte, N.C. He discovered two passions in his life: science, which he studied at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, and performing. The latter became his career and, for 20 years, Epley has made his living writing, performing and directing original interactive theatre across the U.S. and Canada.

The event is free of charge.

“Doktor Kaboom!: Look Out, Science Is Coming” is being held in commemoration of the College’s building plans for the expanded and renovated Center for the Sciences and Agriculture. A groundbreaking ceremony was held in January for this $13 million project with construction to commence this spring with occupancy in fall 2015.
