Alumni began arriving at Wilmington College Friday (June 6) afternoon for the annual Alumni Reunion Weekend.

"The weather forecast is for a perfect June weekend," said Kathy Milam, director of alumni relations. "It's wonderful to see alumni reconnect with their former classmates, faculty members and their College."

The early arrivers had an opportunity to take campus tours before an evening reception hosted by President Jim and Sue Reynolds.

This year's Alumni Weekend will host reunions for the Classes of 1954, 1964 and 1974, in addition to recognizing graduates with special awards for Distinguished Contributions to Education and Distinguished Professional Achievement, as well as the John Frazier Award for Volunteer Service.

Popular features Saturday will include Alumni College programs featuring emeritus professor of history Larry Gara's presentation on classical jazz, former economics professor Martin Giesbrecht's talk on "The Natural Origins of Our Economical Behavior" and agriculture professor Monte Anderson's popular "Gardening with Monte."

The luncheon will highlight the award winners and the president's State of the College address while the culminating Reunion Dinner will pay special tribute to the 50th year reunion class.
