Position: Assistant Athletic Trainer

Addam Kitchen DAT, LAT, ATC, is starting his second year with the WC Athletic Training Staff and works with the women’s soccer, men’s basketball, and baseball teams. He also assists with the cross country and track and field teams. Addam is currently employed by Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, a partner of Wilmington College to provide sports medicine services to the college and Wilmington community. During his first year with Beacon he worked with LaSalle, East Central, Moeller, and Kings High Schools in addition to providing coverage for various youth events such as Kings Hammer and Ohio Elite soccer tournaments.

Before coming to Wilmington he graduated from The Ohio State University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s in Athletic Training. He then completed a graduate assistantship at Indiana State University where he worked with the men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams. During his assistantship at ISU he earned a Doctorate in Athletic Training and performed clinical research focusing on running kinematics in distance runners.

He’s a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Ohio Athletic Trainers’ Association, and the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association. He is certified in Graston Technique and utilizes the Mulligan Concept, Primal Reflex Release Technique, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, and myofascial decompression in  his treatments for soft tissue injuries. He currently lives in Montgomery and enjoys hiking, cooking, and listening to audiobooks.
