Nick Balle is the Director of the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program at Wilmington College, where he teaches social work courses and is dedicated to preparing students for ethical and practical practice in the field. His primary areas of expertise include school social work, policy advocacy, and body, mind, and spirit social work practice.
An active member of both the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), Nick remains engaged in advancing the social work profession. Prior to joining Wilmington College, he served as the Program Chair of Human and Social Services and Addiction Studies at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. His career began as a school social worker in Cincinnati Public Schools, where he gained hands-on experience supporting students, families, and communities.
Nick holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Cincinnati, a Bachelor of Social Work from The Ohio State University, and an Associate of Arts from Columbus State Community College. He is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) in the state of Ohio and also holds a School Social Worker certification.
Outside of his professional life, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and two dogs, as well as engaging in outdoor activities whenever possible. He loves traveling, running, hiking, biking, attending concerts, and exploring new coffee shops and restaurants. He is a passionate advocate for sustainable living and actively promotes composting and recycling.
