Assistant Professor, former healthcare executive, and former non-profit leader, Simon Lucas brings a mix of experience and knowledge to the Marketing program.
A commitment to Wilmington College is nothing new to Lucas. As a graduate of Wilmington College, the alum is deeply committed to the mission and vision of the institution. “I see myself when I look at these students. I remember being in their shoes and it excites me to be a part of creating a successful future for them.”
Professionally, Simon has served as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for two healthcare facilities in Northeast Ohio. Additionally, he has spent considerable time in the non-profit sector as an Executive Director for an organization that focused on early childhood education opportunities for children living in poverty. Lucas has also been a motivational speaker in numerous high schools in the Cincinnati area. Prior to that, Lucas was a faculty member at the University of Mount Union and Heidelberg University. “I use the varied background that I have in marketing to expose my students to real world situations and issues that relate directly to the coursework they are doing. Marketing is meant to be a CREATIVE and DYNAMIC field, and I work hard to bring those elements into each of my lectures.”
Lucas is a native of Bethel-Tate, Ohio and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and Communication Arts from Wilmington College. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration degree from Tiffin University. Simon and his family live in the Cincinnati area and are active members of the campus community. Lucas serves as an advisor to SPECTRA on campus and can be seen in the stands supporting the Quakers at numerous sporting events (Lucas was a member of the Quaker track team from 1996-2000).
