Wilmington College is hosting Dr. Lucy Steinitz as a Visiting Scholar this fall. During her time at WC, the alumna and Board of Trustees member will be providing two separate opportunities for people to participate in the Rising from Resilient Roots workshop.
Rising from Resilient Roots is a one-day resilience-building workshop that is designed to help participants find internal balance, strengthen their identity and learn new coping skills in order to increase hope and well-being in themselves and their communities. Steinitz is largely responsible for developing the program, which has been implemented in more than 25 countries.
The workshop is participatory, fun and fast-paced. It requires no advanced experience – but the promise is that participants will gain insights and feel better about themselves. It is appropriate for youth and adults of all backgrounds.
Following are additional details regarding the workshop:
- It will be offered on both Saturday, September 30, and Saturday, October 7.
- The session will begin at 9 a.m. and will end at 3:30 p.m. and will be held in Boyd Cultural Arts Center – Room 119
- This opportunity is open to anyone – faculty, staff, students, youth groups (15 years old and up), church groups, and greater community members.
- Both lunch and snacks will be provided.
Space is limited (capacity is 30 participants) and pre-registration is requested. Please use the following link to signup:
