Ali Storer presents capstone at chemistry meeting.
A contingent of Wilmington College chemistry majors and faculty members traveled to the University of Cincinnati Oct. 20 to attend the annual Oesper Symposium sponsored by UC’s Department of Chemistry and the Cincinnati Section of the American Chemical Society.
Senior Ali Storer’s capstone research project, titled "Aerobic Oxidation of Catechol Substrates Using Poly-oximate Copper (II) Catalysts," was presented alongside those of peers from other institutions at the student research poster session.
The WC group, which also included Madi Butorac and Paige Kopiec and faculty members Dr. Dore Meinholtz and Dr. Michael Goldcamp, had an opportunity to catch up with former WC classmates Logan Frazier and Nico Swepston (both class of 2023), who are first-year graduate students in the Chemistry Department at UC. They also met with Brandi James (WC class of 2018), who is finishing her Ph.D. in chemistry at UC.
