Exhaustive Self-Study Being Readied for Summer Submission
Reaffirmation of accreditation is a vital part of an institution's lifeblood and Wilmington College is fully engaged in preparing for a campus visit this fall by its accrediting body, the Higher Learning Commission. Months of preparation have gone into the creation of a self-study to be submitted this summer.
The exhaustive study features the College addressing five criteria, which represent standards of quality by which the HLC determines whether an institution merits accreditation or, in WC's case, reaffirmation of accreditation. The criteria include (1) mission, (2) integrity/ethical and responsible conduct, (3) teaching and learning (quality, resources, support), (4) teaching and learning (evaluation and improvement) and (5) institutional effectiveness informed by resources and planning.
