MBK's Goal Is to Bring a Fresh Blend of Bluegrass to New Audiences.
Wilmington College will open its 2015-16 Issues & Artists Series with the Cincinnati bluegrass band My Brother’s Keeper Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m., in Hugh G. Heiland Theatre.
Members of My Brother’s Keeper grew up together surrounded by such musical genres as folk, bluegrass and gospel. MKB is comprised of brothers Benjamin, Titus and Joshua Luckhaupt on guitar, mandolin and fiddle, respectively, and Wyatt “Sawmill” Murray on upright bass.
They play original music and the MBK sound features tight, four-part harmonies, rock-driven vocals, blazing solos and complex, interlaced musical interludes. Their goal is to bring a fresh blend of bluegrass to new audiences.
My Brother’s Keeper is one of the fastest rising bluegrass bands on the Cincinnati music scene. The band is known for energetic live shows, creative musicianship and positive lyrics. It logged 12,000 and covered 24 states during its summer tour.
Their presentation is free and open to the public.
