More Than 100 Selected in WC's Inaugural Year as NSLS Chapter
Opportunities for leadership development represent a hallmark of a Wilmington College education. The National Society of Leadership Success inducted 43 students for official NSLS membership in a virtual ceremony this spring that featured President Trevor Bates as the keynote speaker
Kayla Wyse, student president of Wilmington College NSLS Chapter, said the College's induction rate of nearly 65 percent eclipses the national average and the rate WC achieved during the inaugural Fall 2020 Semester.
"The NSLS has provided our members with experiences that develop leadership qualities for real world application," she said. "It also connects students with the community."
The National Society of Leadership and Success is the nation's largest honor society and collegiate leadership development program. It differentiates itself from traditional honor societies in that students must complete a step-by-step leadership development program in order to become inducted.
The curriculum offers students the opportunity to develop many in-demand skills such as leadership, communication and team building. Members also will have the opportunity to complete additional educational modules. WC students must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average for nomination consideration.
Benefits of membership include scholarships and awards, access to a job bank, partner discounts and benefits on many retail goods and services, custom recommendations, professional communication training and access to a nationwide network of more than a million NSLS members from 650 colleges and universities.
