Three WC Students Earn Cash Awards in the Kittay Poetry Competition

Becca Simonji Captures First Place, for 'Beauty Is Pain'

Seth Kittay, a.1968 Wilmington College graduate, funds an annual poetry prize at WC as a means for encouraging students to write poetry and as an affirmation of the positive effect writing has had on his life. He is an entrepreneur and businessman in Los Angeles.

The Kittay Poetry Prize was awarded to three students when the English Department's literary awards were presented earlier this month. Recipients were Becca Simonji, first place, for "Beauty Is Pain," followed in second place by Castor Caplinger for her poem, "I'm So Embarrassed How Hungrily...," and in third place by Grace Rolfe for "Favorite Features."
