Wilmington College completed its Together We Rise Campaign on June 30, 2023, achieving the $45 million goal with a campaign activity of $49,038,370 — exceeding the goal by 9 percent! Some 5,456 donors contributed to the campaign, which served to enhance financial aid, capital projects, current operations and the College’s endowment.
Joe Bull, vice president for advancement expressed his appreciation to all those stakeholders by showing their commitment to the College. He noted that, unique to many higher education comprehensive campaigns, 90 percent of the campaign total came in the form of current gifts and pledges, with only 8 percent being planned gift expectancies and 2 percent coming from irrevocable planned gifts.
“The foundational gifts of the campaign were sparked by WC faculty and were cultivated by former Presidents Dan DiBiasio, Jim Reynolds and Trevor Bates, as well as Interim President Corey Cockerill,” Bull said, He added that generations of advancement staff also share in this accomplishment through “their dedicated work” in engaging the philanthropic interests of the College’s benefactors. WC’s campaign counsel, Benefactor Group, was instrumental in our success.
“We now look forward to how philanthropy can increase the capacity of Wilmington College to fulfill its mission to ‘educate, inspire and prepare each student for a life of service and success.’"
