Two Advancement Administrators Earn Fundraising Certification

Matt Wahrhaftig and Amie Denkenberger Designated as CFRE Professionals Wilmington College’s Matt Wahrhaftig and Amie Denkenberger received a significant endorsement as fundraising professionals as newly Certified Fundraising Executives (CFRE). Wahrhaftig, a WC graduate who joined the College staff in 2011, is vice president for advancement, while Denkenberger, who earned a Master of Education from WC, came in 2012 and serves as director of leadership giving. CFRE International, which issued the certification, is an independent organization whose mission is dedicated to setting standards in philanthropy. The certification process involved in-depth training and passing a comprehensive examination. CFRE International certifies experienced fundraising professionals aspiring to the highest standards of ethics, competence and service to the philanthropic sector. It envisions a world in which philanthropy is practiced in an environment of trust, respect and accountability. Wahrhaftig and his wife, Shannon, have two daughters and reside in Kettering while Denkenberger and her husband, Travis, have a daughter and reside in Centerville.
