Phillip Wynn Takes Home Top Prize in Pepsi/iHeart Radio Contest at WC's Men's Basketball Game
Wilmington College senior Phillip Wynn had the luck of the draw and walked home with $1,000 in his pocket Wednesday night (Feb. 1) in a contest sponsored by G&J Pepsi and iHeart Radio/Buckeye Country 105.5.

Wynn, Holly Zeuch and Aaron Pardo were randomly selected after Wilmington College students had 10 days to register for a "non-athletic" competition to take place at halftime of the Quakers' men's basketball game with Capital University. The contest procedure involved 11 bottles of Pepsi and one bottle of Pepsi Zero in individual sling packs placed on a table at center court of Fred Raizk Arena.
Each contestant selected one pack with all three opening theirs and displaying bottles of Pepsi at the same time. A palpable excitement rose when IHeart Radio's John Barney announced no one won in the first round. So, each selected a second pack. This time Wynn pulled out a Pepsi Zero and the crowd erupted — especially a large contingent of men's soccer players who were on hand to cheer on their teammate. Wynn's friends emptied onto the court, embracing Wynn as G&J Pepsi's Erica Marcum presented him with a five-foot-long check replica for a photo-op.
Both Pardo and Zeuch left with parting gifts while Wynn pocketed $1,000. Wynn was heard saying to his teammates, "Wanna go to Chipotle tonight?"
