Agronomy is the branch of agriculture that deals with field crop production and soil management. It’s the science and technology of producing and using plants by agriculture for food, fuel and fiber. The Agronomy concentration prepares students for agriculture professions in areas of soil science, crop science, agriculture biochemistry and basic research, as well as soil and water conservation. Many students in agronomy will minor in Chemistry.
